Thomas Rhett Hints Daughters Might Make An Appearance At The CMA Awards

Thomas Rhett might make the CMA Awards a family affair this year!

Usually the country singer is accompanied by his wife, Lauren Akins on red carpets, however, he recently hinted that he might bring his daughters Willa Gray and Ada James along to the big event this year, assuming they can stay up past their bedtime.

"I'll tell you what, maybe! They usually go to bed at eight," Rhett says. "If they can stay awake that long I might just do it."

Whether his girls make it or not, it's safe to say Rhett has an exciting night ahead of him with two CMA nominations. The "Look What God Gave Her" singer is nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year against Keith Urban, Chris Stapleton, Dierks Bentley and Luke Combs. He's also nominated for Album of the Year for Center Point Road.

"Album of the Year is about the coolest award I could be nominated for," he says. "You spend so much time on the road writing and figuring out what the direction of the album is going to be. And when you have that many people that voted for an album, to be one of the top five or six, that's pretty mind-blowing."

Although Rhett has been to his fair share of award shows and special events, he admits that the CMA Awards are his favorite.

"The CMAs are one of my favorite nights of the year. You get to see everybody, you get to dress up," Rhett explains. "Every time I'm nominated, I go in with very low expectations for myself. But it's always super cool when you do win."

Rhett is one many country stars set to perform during the ceremony. He'll be singing his current single, "Remember You Young." The 2019 CMA Awards will be airing live from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, November 13 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
