Kelsea Ballerini Performs New Version Of 'Hole In The Bottle' At ACM Awards

Kelsea Ballerini took the stage at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium for a stripped-down performance of her current single, "Hole In The Bottle," during the 2020 ACM Awards on Wednesday night (September 16).

The country singer, who is nominated for Female Artist of the Year, took a moment to share her excitement with viewers and explain the song choice. "I picked this song because I don't know about you, but I feel like this year, we can all use a drink!" she said, referring to the challenges the country has faced in 2020.

Ballerini then launched into a fun, upbeat rendition of her new version of "Hole In The Bottle." The acoustic-based version stems from her new album, Ballerini, which strips down all 13 songs from her third album, Kelsea, released in March.

"There's a hole in the bottle / Leakin' all this wine / It's already empty and it ain't even suppertime," she sang in the chorus. "Honey, no, I don't miss him / In fact, it slipped my mind / There's a hole in the bottle of wine."

This year’s ACM Awards were rescheduled from the original Las Vegas date in April due to the coronavirus pandemic. The 2020 ACM Awards were broadcasted live from three iconic venues: Grand Ole Opry House, Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium and The Bluebird Cafe.

Additional performers for the night included Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton featuring Gwen Stefani, Carrie Underwood, Trisha Yearwood, Kane Brown, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Dan + Shay, Florida Georgia Line, Mickey Guyton and Morgan Wallen, who performed at the Opry. Gabby Barrett, Riley Green, Old Dominion and Thomas Rhett featuring Jon Pardi, performed from the Ryman alongside Ballerini. Jimmie Allen, Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert featuring songwriters Natalie Hemby and Luke Dick and Tim McGraw took the stage at The Bluebird.
