While climbing a former president's oversized face would certainly be cool, apparently the people who take care of Mount Rushmore frown on that sort of thing.
Which is why a Nebraska woman is in trouble for scaling the South Dakota tourist attraction. Appearing in federal court Monday, Alexandria Incontro was fined $1,000 after pleading guilty to violating the monument's strict "no climbing" rule three days earlier.
Officials say she scaled the granite mountain between the faces of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, using nothing but her hands and bare feet. She made it to within 15 feet of the top before police forced her to come down.
Was it irresponsible of the police to make her climb all the way back down when she had just 15 feet to go? What's the most daring thing you've ever done?
