Amy thinks Lunchbox could benefit from understanding the difference between being honest and being mean.
They were having a conversation the other day about Amy's dating life. In the conversation, Lunchbox told her "at your age, you can't be too picky with guys." Amy was hurt by the comment and tried to share a sentence that would have been more honest and helpful rather than just mean. Bobby chimed in to say he thinks Amy has too high of expectations for Lunchbox's vernacular and trying to teach Lunchbox the difference between honest and helpful would be like trying to introduce a pilgrim to the iPhone.
Lunchbox said he thinks people need to stop being sensitive. She was discussing with them how hard it is to date and admitting all the different things she wasn't liking about particular guys, That's when he chimed in to say that she can't be too picky because the dating pool isn't as wide at her age. He thought this statement was honest and helpful, but not mean.
Bobby stepped in saying he thinks there is honesty and meanness and somewhere in the middle is the truth. He also added that Lunchbox saying what he did is mean and doesn't believe Amy was being sensitive, further saying that Amy needs to be even more selective now. Amy thought this conversation was a good and honest one, but when he said that things took a different turn.
